OF THETA DELTA SIGMA |
|
Theta Delta Sigma was
established at the State University of New York, Buffalo on
April 15, 2001 and recognized by the university as an
official and organizing group on campus the same semester.
These founding siblings - Jamel Catoe, Ritchie Chavez,
Kimberly Cheng, Gilbert Chu, Yvonne Gong, Michael Liu,
Cecilia Mejia, Brian Philips, Naudeya Richards, Melissa
Tang, Joey Tsao, Iris Wangpataravanich, Jim Wong, and Judy
Wong came together from different cultural backgrounds as
one. |
14
Founders of Theta Delta Sigma |
|
These 14 extraordinary men and
women united with a single vision, a rare vision, of uniting
men and women of all cultural backgrounds in bonds of
'siblinghood' and providing others an opportunity to use
their pride in their heritage, open mind to celebrate
diversity and
multiculturalism and to
become leaders in society.
On March 23, 2003, Theta Delta
Sigma was recognized under the laws of the State of New York
as a non-profit organization as Theta Delta Sigma Society,
Incorporated.
Today, Theta Delta Sigma has
grown past the boundaries of the University at Buffalo and
Western New York and we have formed a union amongst members
of different ethnicities, religions, and cultures becoming a
culturally revolutionary and unprecedented society.
We, the siblings of Theta Delta Sigma Society, will uphold
the ideals of our founders and seek to establish and
perpetuate siblinghood and the utmost unity while increasing
minority awareness, diversity, and multiculturalism.
